Dario Brito
Dario joined the Elevate team in November of 2008 as our first instructor. He teaches an elective class for juniors at Evans High School and teaches Robinswood Middle School 8th graders Elevate curriculum once a week. He leads Adventure and College Preparation activities and is available to these students 24 / 7, staying in contact with them via phone, text and e-mail.
Dario was inspired to help students at Evans High when he saw an article published in the Orlando Sentinel questioning whether that school could survive. He initiated contact with the principal and began to form relationships with Evans staff and students. Dario has a tremendous rapport with these students, as he faced many of the same challenges growing up as they do today. The staff at Evans recommended Dario for his position on the Elevate team. He has extensive experience working with urban youth as a youth minister for several Christian churches, and believes helping these students complete their education and have a positive, successful life experience is his calling.
Dario is supported in his work by his lovely wife Jackie.
